Nicole Seah is a famous Singaporean politician. She was the NSP (National Solidarity Party) candidate for the Marine Parade GRC for the 2011 general elections in Singapore. She was the youngest female candidate standing in the election and hence, soon grabbed the media attention. She is an executive, working for a multinational advertising agency. She is a graduate from the National University of Singapore with a scholarship.
Born on 17th October 1986, Nicole Rebecca Seah Xue Ling is just 24 and has already gained popularity by becoming the youngest female to stand for the election. Her popularity was topping the charts, as her speeches were spreading like viral fever from the YouTube gallery. Before the elections, Nicole Seah was declared as the most popular and admired politician in Singapore on the Facebook. She had more than 100000 likes on Facebook overcoming the second popular politician, the former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew.
Nicole Seah was selected as a member of the five-person NSP team for GRC elections. She was invited by Goh Meng Seng and the NSP’s general secretary to join the NSP. This young politician was working with the Reform Party since 2009, but left the party by the beginning of February 2011. It was said by Jon Russell of Asia Sentinel that the popularity of Nicole Seah has increased tremendously, that the people prefer Nicole to be the youth candidate in the election. The Straits Times compared her popularity to be like a “rockstar”. She has a very interesting team that includes Ivan Yeo-63, Cheo Chai Chen-60, Spencer Ng Chung Hon-31 and the youngest among the team is Abdul Salim Harun-29. The former Prime Minister once in his speech referred the NSP as the Nicole Seah Party.
Nicole Seah is a young advertising professional who is now becoming a threat to even the veteran politicians in Singapore, like even the former Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong. This clearly proves that this young little politician is here to stay.
