Jyoti Guptara and Suresh Guptara are twin brothers who are popular for co-authoring the fantasy series, Insanity Saga. The first draft of Conspiracy of Calaspia was finished by these novelists at the age of eleven.. The book was published when they were 17 and became an international bestseller. Their second book named as Codex Culmus was published in March 2009 in German translation The twins were born on 22nd November 1988 in UK to father Prabhu Guptara and mother Philippa Guptara and raised in Surrey till they were 7. The Guptara family headed towards Switzerland when the twins were 7 years old. Suresh is the older of the twins and they also have a sister Anjali, based in London and a brother Ranjeet, a successful businessmen and entrepreneur. At the age of 15, Jyoti Guptara became the youngest journalist to publish in an American English-language international daily newspaper called as The Wall Street Journal.
Jyoti Guptara left Kantonsschule Frauenfeld for homeschooling and successfully completed his Ordinary Level (O-level) before becoming a professional full-time writer. Because of Swiss citizenship, Jyoti was drafted into the Swiss Armed forces. Jyoti scored high marks in the recruitment and had been trained with one nation’s toughest units known as Armoured Grenadiers. He worked in the military forces from June to August of the year 2009, and was dismissed due to medical reasons. During this time, Jyoti Guptara wrote a weekly column for Switzerland’s well-known newspaper known as Tages-Anzeiger.
Suresh Guptara studied in Bradfield College in Berkshire. In college, he had an interesting life as he continued gaining A-level grades and that too without studying much. Instead of studying, he would enjoy watching the series 24 with his friend on numerous occasions. During the academic year 2007-08, Suresh took a gap year to write full-time along with promoting his books, including book tours around Germany, United States and India.
Due to their unusual personal story, these twin brothers have been widely covered by the media including Al-Jazeera English, Fox and BBC World TV. At the age of 19, they gave more than 100 readings for the German translation of book 1, Calaspia Die Verschworung.
