Aziz Ansari epitomizes the idea of a comedian, actor and screenwriter. He is the combination of incredible artists who shot to fame in the mid 2000 as a part of the 3 member comedy troupe responsible for the weekly show, The Human Giants. It was an irreverent and outrageous comedy series that the trio wrote and performed on the international platform of MTV.
Ansari, born on February 23, 1983 in Columbia, is best known as a comedian. He was critically acclaimed for his contribution in the well known series of the Human Giants where he used to write the scripts. In 2005, he broke into the scene as rolling stone and got included in the annual “Hot List” for the choice of ‘Hot Standup”. The same year, he won the Jury Award in the US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, organized by HBO. Aziz Ansari was hired by NBC’s Parks and Recreation Show that was telecasted on April 2009. For his performance in this show, he was launched as a TV star and was also nominated for the Breakout TV star of the year by the Entertainment Weekly in 2009. He toured to US in the same year and the material for the tour was taken from his first standup comedy album. Ansari has also starred in the films like Observe and Report, I Love You, Man and Funny People.
Aziz Ansari was invited by MTV to host the MTV Movie Awards on 2010. The show went on floor on June 6, 2006. By the end of 2010, Ansari had become a popular comedian and also got an opportunity to play the leading man in many comedy films. He started a theatre tour which was named Dangerously Delicious Tour in the summer of 2010.
In 2010, it was announced that Ansari would be starring in the film 30 Minutes or Less which would be directed by Ruben Fleischer, co-starring Danny McBride and Jesse Eisenberg. This movie was scheduled to release on 12th August 2011. He currently stars in the NBC show of Parks and Recreation as Tom Haveford.
