June 28, 2007 - After the Yankees winning streak came to an end last night in Hudson Valley, they came alive once more taking the opening game of a three game set against the Aberdeen Ironbirds.  Adam Olbrychowski made his professional debut pitching 2.2 hitless innings and striking out two batters.

The Yankees got on the board early in the second inning after David Williams lead off the inning with a single and newly assigned outfielder Isaiah Howes knocked a 2-run homerun over the left field fence.  The bombers would plate four more in the fourth, David Williams and Isaiah Howes both drew walks to lead off the inning.  A sac bunt by Chris Raber moved both runners over and a Luis Nunez double plated both.  Nunez would come in to score on a Justin Snyder single and would come in after Taylor Holiday singled on a fly ball to right.

The Yankees would not score again in the contest, but would take the opening game of the series.  The Ironbirds attempted a comeback against Gabriel Medina, but was unable to come back all the way.  Gabe Medina got the win for bombers and Philip Bartleski pitched .2 innings for the save.
